What a blessing to join in ministry with Kidz Konnect!!

Due to some logistical things, Selah spent some time working with the eye team. She did an excellent job putting eye drops in and showing the  eye chart.  She also did some English/Spanish interpreting.

I enjoy April because there is a team of graduating nurses that come from Huntington University.  I get to see the same instructors every year.

There is a PA Brian who also is pretty proficient in ASL. He is know well known among the Deaf community as the doctor who signs!

Carra was on her second trip with Kidz Konnect as a med student (about to graduate). God prompted me to ask her if she would like to stay and visit Spanish Lookout. She agreed! She spent some time with us at church (in both Spanish Lookout and Orange Walk) Then spent some time sightseeing.

Zepnahiah, Nathanael Spring and Carra went on a hike

I am so thankful for the productive and relaxing visit we were able to have!

Guatemala, revisited

No one could have imagined that in 2005 when Nathanael and I stayed in Antigua for language training; we would have the opportunity to visit again.  What started out as mostly ministry ended with two days in Guatemala as a family.

Selah, Spring, and Misael set out from Spanish Lookout quite early in the morning. Marta drove them to the border and they took a bus from Flores to Guatemala City. While there was a major oops on Spring's part in leaving Misael stranded in the airport at 3 am, thankfully things were ironed out and Misael took his flight to Jamaica Misael returned to spend another 4 months reading through the Bible and studying it.

Selah and Spring took a one day mini retreat, going over the material in Passport to Purity.  The following day, Nathanael, Abigail, Zion, and Ni met them at the hotel in the mountains outside of Antigua. What a lovely view!!!

We then the morning in Hobbetango, an area modeled after J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books.  It was enjoyable

In Antigua, we were able to see the old school and Christian coffeehouse which has since changed hands. The current owner does make coffee which we gladly spent money on!

The next day we took a free tour of Antigua, leaving Abi home to do school work.  It was fun to see and learn a bit.

It was very nice to return to a place that carried memories of Abi as a baby.

We also got to spend a bit of time with friends in Guatemala City. This was overwhelming for us as the population of the city is greater than all of Belize.  When Selah first entered the mall in the city, she was in tears. I have to agree with her, so many people in one place is overwhelming.

We are thankful for the uneventful trip home
